We’re delighted to give a warm Portland welcome to the two newest members of the Portland team.  Casey Veevers and Steven Burr joined the design office as Finance Assistant and Structural Engineer, respectively.

Steven is the newest addition to the Structural Engineering team.  He comes with a strong academic background, graduating from Northumbria University with First-Class honours.  Since graduating he has gained four years’ work experience at engineering consultancy firms across the region.  In his role he will be helping the team deliver detailed designs, providing clients with the values-led service they can expect from us.  His focus on innovative, buildable and cost-effective design solutions makes him a natural fit on the team.

Steven said: ‘My first few weeks at Portland have been very enjoyable.  The team have been welcoming and I have already begun learning a lot.  In a short period of time, I have been working on a diverse range of projects and am looking forward to seeing what the future brings at Portland.’

Casey’s role within the business is a new one, created as part of our strategy to grow and develop the business.  She will be supporting the management in maintaining and delivering required financial information and helping us to achieve our targets.  Casey is an experienced financial manager and has already hit the ground running in her role, helping us establish our new management structure, which will allow us to become a more efficient business.

Casey said: ‘Starting a new job can be a nerve-wracking experience, but everyone at Portland has welcomed me and helped me settle in with ease.  I’m looking forward to being part of the team and contributing to our continued success’

Managing Director Lee Barr said: ‘We’re thrilled to welcome the newest members of the Portland family.  Both Casey and Steven are high-quality professionals who bring plenty of experience to bolster an already talented team.  We’re very grateful to welcome them both on board.’
