This 72-bed care home with nursing in Loughton, Essex is built across three floors and with exceptional communal spaces.
The complex is a traditional, purpose-built and elegant care home with 72 private, en-suite rooms.
Our Approach
To design the civil and structural engineering aspects of the 3-storey executive care home to accommodate the surrounding constraints.
To provide foul and surface water drainage design to accommodate the existing nursing home rooms and communal facilities
All rooms were equipped with their own bathrooms which required outlets along with internal hairdressers and kitchen facilities
Surface Water attenuation was incorporated into the designs to avoid flooding within the system
In addition, we provided structural design and details to facilitate the architectural proposals for the ground, first and second floors along with all access arrangements including staircases and external balconies
Foundations were designed to accommodate the extensive existing trees within the boundary which resulted in deep trench excavation
All floors were designed as pre-cast concrete and supported on masonry and steelwork where required.
