Project Summary

The construction of new Lidl stores and extension works to existing stores.

As part of the Lidl Consultants Framework, projects comprise new build, extensions and refurbishments including the suite of standard Lidl store models and more bespoke adaptions of existing buildings to suit the Lidl standard corporate specification.

Our Approach

Working in accordance with the Lidl GB national corporate store specification, Portland have produced RIBA Stage 4 design work for site specific elements such as foundations, slabs, site layouts, retaining walls and drainage. We have also produced flood risk assessments to accompany planning applications and assisted with upgrades and modifications. On numerous projects we have provided construction stage support for the Contractor.

Teesbay Retail Park – new build store (all RIBA Stages)
Bedlington – new build store (RIBA Stage 5 onwards)
Gosforth, Newcastle – conversion of a vacated Wickes store and loading bay extension (all RIBA Stages)
Carlisle – extension to provide additional space to house an in-store bakery (RIBA Stage 5 onwards)
Consett – new build store (RIBA Stage 4)
Whitby – extension to provide enlarged sales area and warehousing (RIBA Stage 4)
Monkseaton – new build store (RIBA Stage 4)
Lemington – new build store (RIBA Stage 4)
Kendal – conversion of a vacated Homebase store (all RIBA Stages)
